Consulting
Our litigation and business
valuation services are provided by J.
Breck Tostevin and Cynthia
E. Davis. Both Mr. Tostevin and Ms. Davis have been qualified as an
expert witness in local courts and been appointed by the courts as a
special master to handle specific cases. Ms. Davis has received her
designation as an accredited member of the American Society of Appraisers.
Business Valuations - We
have appraised hundreds of businesses over the past 20 years, for a
variety of different purposes. Our staff has extensive experience in the
field of valuations for marital dissolution. We have also valued many
businesses for estate tax purposes, for business buy-ins and buy-outs and
for owner's disputes. We are constantly updating our knowledge in the
valuation field by attendance at conferences and seminars. We are members
of several national organizations devoted to appraisal work.
Damage Calculations - Our
work in this area has included lost profits and financial damage
calculations due to contract disputes, embezzlement, fire, and a variety
of other circumstances resulting in an individual or business having to
resort to litigation. We are also experienced in assisting in trial
preparation, including the creation of trial exhibits (such as graphs and
charts), to illustrate important points in an easily understandable format.
Loss of Earnings Calculations
- We have experience calculating loss of earnings due to injury or
accident. We work with the attorneys to develop reasonable projections of
lost earnings for their clients, either over the injured party's work life
or the projected period of disability.
Marital Dissolution
Consulting - We are prepared to work with individuals and their
attorneys in most all phases of their marital dissolution. Our experience
includes calculating income for support purposes, dealing with property
settlement issues, tracing separate and community property, business
valuations, reimbursements and more. We have extensive knowledge of the
tax implications of divorce, and frequently advise individuals in this
important area.
